This is a rather simple mission. You just have to destroy tanks in different places on the map. There are two tanks close to the northeast corner of the map, five in the base you have to defend, and six being dropped to the ground by a low-flying C-72B. Similar to the C-5Bs dropping paratanks in Oil Refinery Seizure in the original Airforce Delta, you can shoot down the C-72B before it drops all of its tanks, thus taking them out faster. The mission is completed once all tanks are destroyed.
There is a hidden enemy in these levels; A fictional variant of the U-2 called the U-4. It's flying at 40,000 feet in the air. It's possible to shoot it down (As seen in the walkthrough videos), but this has next to no purpose; The plane itself isn't worth a particularly high amount of credits (20k for a missile kill, 40k for a gun kill. In comparison, the C-72B is worth the same amount), and it doesn't unlock anything for doing so. It's merely an extra challenge if you really want to do it. The best way to get up to its altitude is to skim near the ground while flying towards it, constantly gaining speed by holding the acceleration down. When you can't get any more speed and you see the craft on radar, raise the plane up and fly towards it. You should be able to keep enough speed to stay on the craft and shoot it down. Congratulations, you shot down an incredibly annoying to destroy plane. You get nothing for it except some more money. Was it worth it?
- Destroy all targets.
The reward for this mission is 60,000 credits plus a variable amount depending on the number of enemies taken out and, in the case of the airplanes, how they were taken out. The F-14D Tomcat and the Mirage F1 are unlocked for 230,000 credits and 200,000 credits respectively. Nullify the Spy Planes and Streets of Rust are also unlocked. The former mission is for Bellona Airbase and the latter mission is for Agakles Airbase.
An emergency situation has arisen. A large United Forces transport carrier has been confirmed near the Zayno Forest. It is confirmed that the transport is carrying an airborne division. It is suspected that they are going to attempt a parachute attack on our base in that vicinity. You must quickly intercept and destroy the transport carrier. Prevent the paratroopers from occupying the base. Over and out.
Delta Leader: (When mission is selected on the map) Our goal: destroy the enemy transport and prevent the enemy paratroopers from occupying our base.
Delta 2?: (When the C-72B begins dropping tanks which happens after approximately two minutes and one second into the mission) Destroy attacking enemy tank division.
[mission ends once all targets are destroyed]
The Quiet March
The reward for this mission is 30,000 credits plus a variable amount depending on the number of enemies taken out and, in the case of the planes, how they were taken out. The F-4S Phantom II is unlocked for 220,000 credits.
- This mission's briefing says, "near the mouth of the Cayenne River" instead of, "near the Zayno Forest".
- Also, this mission appears to set between the evening and the afternoon while Defending the Zayno appears to be set between the morning and the afternoon.
- There are more clouds in the sky, and the sky also possesses a greenish-tint, similarly to what's seen before a severe thunderstorm.
