This mission is set in a large jungle area with many enemies in different places. Most enemies are clustered in bases on the map. There are four trucks you have to destroy. Each truck has a Z.S.U.-23 A.A.A. guarding it and shooting bullets at you but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle if you have full health. Destroying a truck will cause a floating AV-8B Harrier II to suddenly appear and shoot bullets and missiles at you. There are four trucks and four Harrier IIs in different places on the map and you have to destroy/shoot down all of them. In two bases, there are AH-64Ds, one in each of them, you have to shoot down. Be careful of the many other enemies shooting at you in the base! The helicopters themselves are also no less dangerous than the Harrier IIs you have to shoot down. In the air, there is a Mirage 2000 you must shoot down. The mission is completed once all targets are destroyed/shot down.
- Destroy/Shoot down all targets.
The reward for this mission is 50,000 credits plus a variable amount depending on the number of enemies taken out and, in the case of the planes and helicopters, how they were taken out. Chairon Airbase is unlocked with the mission Battle for the Zabios Ruins and the F-16 Fighting Falcon for 300,000 credits. Lying in Wait is also unlocked at Bellona Airbase. The J 35 Draken is unlocked at Bellona Airbase as well for 200,000 credits. In the PAL version, the JA37 Viggen exclusive to it is also unlocked at Chairon Airbase for 250,000 credits.
Lately, many of our spy planes have been disappearing over the jungles. This cannot be accounted for by mere accidents. We suspect that there is a United Forces base and military presence in the area. You must find the United Forces military center and destroy it. Over and out.
Delta Leader: (When mission is selected on the map) Our mission is to destroy the enemy base. We have reason to suspect a strong enemy presence in the area, so watch out.
Charlie 05: This is Charlie 05 to Control. Proceeding with flight plan. Nothing at all on radar. Peaceful as can be.
Control: This is Control. Roger that, Charlie 05. Don't let your guard down. Remember, you're in enemy-held skies.
Charlie 05: Understood, I got it. What's this!? I've got something on radar! Nooooo...! (Is shot down by three AV-8B Harrier II)
[pre-mission cutscene ends]
Delta 2?: (Each time a truck is destroyed) Enemy fighter on radar!
Delta 2?: (After one AV-8B Harrier II is shot down) Reinforcements remaining: 3
Delta 2?: (After two AV-8B Harrier IIs are shot down) Reinforcements remaining: 2
Delta 2?: (After three AV-8B Harrier IIs are shot down) Reinforcements remaining: 1
[mission ends once all targets are destroyed/shot down]
