The Yakovlev 141 (NATO reporting name of "Freestyle", also sometimes referred to as simply the "Yak-41") is a V/TOL aircraft introduced in Airforce Delta Storm and also featured in Airforce Delta Strike as an aircraft usable by Alex Levine. It was a Russian V/TOL craft, used for testing.
Design (Both games)[]
The Freestyle is a very interestingly designed V/TOL. The design seems to hearken towards the Foxhound look, what with its long, boxy appearance and two stock-straight vertical stabilizers, but that all changes when you look at the rear engine. The rear of the craft looks hollowed out, and an engine is visible deep inside (Which comes out and faces downward when the craft enters a vertical state).
Performance[]
Airforce Delta Storm[]
One of three V/TOLs available in the game, this craft is arguably the best of the three, though that isn't saying a whole lot. Its stats all around are fairly mediocre, and using it in actual play is not strictly advised. Its stats are all in the medium range, and although it has decent armaments, its range is very poor. You can find it by locating the hidden Melaina Air Base.
Airforce Delta Strike[]
In Strike, the plane is available for purchase after progressing to Phase 5. It is arguably the best V/TOL craft in the game, as it not only has good stats, but it also has a vulcan, something the X-32B and the F/A-35B lack by comparison. It can also use afterburners unlike most other V/TOLs (A trait it shares with the X-32B and the F/A-35B), and has a decent special weapon in the ASM.
